These words are a vessel
wherein your soul pours
and reading ignores
that you bled them to life

I was a longboat
you were the raging
mad ocean e’er waging
the waves of my strife

in an ancient blue dress
in the absence of wind
elegantly pinned
to the sweet waves of you

I remembered and wrote this
a drop in the deep
some tired letters to keep
what your touch must undo
